Sunset Teams Up With Extreme Marine

In what appears to be a win-win for both parties, Miami’s Extreme Marine—aka Xtreme Powerboats—and Sunset Boat Sales in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., announced that the companies are teaming up to have Sunset Boat Sales’ CEO and president Martin Sanborn handle the boat sales for Extreme’s brokerage operations in a co-broker capacity.

“With his many years in the boating industry, Extreme Marine/Xtremepowerboats.com, has welcomed Martin Sanborn and his expertise to be the co-broker for Extreme Marine,” said Jodi Goldman, who took over running the longtime sales and service center, which is located in the impressive Haulover Marine Center building, after her husband, the well-respected Larry Goldman, passed away in 2017.
“We needed someone in-house to focus on sales and who better than Martin to do that?” Goldman continued. “When I told the kids (Jilian and Jacob) Martin was going to be working with us, they were so excited. He has a lot history with our family—with Larry obviously—and he has so much experience. We look forward to a mutually successful sales brokerage relationship in this constantly growing boating community.”
Sanborn, a former offshore racing world champion who has handled broadcasting duties for a variety of racing series over the last couple of decades, brings more than 30 years of experience in the industry, from sales and service to construction and marketing. His most recent venture (read the story) is Sunset Boat Sales, a licensed Florida broker and member of the International Yacht Brokers Association.
“It was an important element of our discussions that both companies retain autonomy while leveraging resources to create a successful relationship that benefits everyone, including the customers,” Sanborn said. “There is a lot of mutual respect here, and both Jodi and I are looking forward to expanding the brokerage sales for both companies.
“It is our job to connect qualified buyers with the sellers of premium boats,” he continued. “We represent buyers and sellers to ensure that they are properly protected through the transaction process.”
According to the release, Sunset Boat Sales is going to be the point of contact for Extreme’s brokerage sales, as marketed on the various listing services and social media campaigns, as well as its in-house sales representative. Sanborn, who started the fully licensed, bonded and insured brokerage earlier this year, said he’s going to maintain his office in Fort Lauderdale and split time between Extreme Marine, which is an official service center for Formula Boats and an authorized Mercury and Yamaha dealer and service center.
